Governor Little Signs Charter Administrator Bill

Research has shown that, “highly effective principals raise the achievement of a typical student in their schools by between two and seven months of learning in a single school year.” By signing SB1058 into law, Governor Little recognizes that our state has some outstanding non-traditional leadership talent eager and prepared to run charter schools in Idaho.

“With the increased flexibility of this new certificate, there is a clear expectation that there be more evidence of charter school innovation and, most importantly, that these innovative approaches in teaching and learning will have a positive impact for all Idaho’s public school,” wrote Gov. Little.

The new certificate offers a rigorous, streamlined certification process that adds another tool to the toolbox to help welcome and embrace the very best talent for our schools and children.
